Who makes stocks?

boyds gunstock industries makes some fine patterns. Pricy now compared to 5+ years ago, but still reasonable. they will make in laminate or solid walnut. My experience with them has been very positive.

+1 for Chris Griesbach. Very intimate with the Mauser. He built mine for my FN Mauser project. Really happy with it. Has become my go to gun.

Now that’s interesting. I like rolling blocks a lot. Would you be willing to share the approximate cost of that work?

I actually don't know the cost. The rifle was picked up from a fellow firearms enthusiast in Kelowna, at one of their half day gun shows. It's a work of art, chambered for the 5-70, built on a Swede contract RRB for the Danes. It came with the original stock as well.

Give Webber & Markin Gunsmiths a call. Phone: (250) 762-7575

Really decent people there, with lots of old school skillsets.

You don't specify what level of stock you are looking for. A semi-inlet stock for finishing yourself, or a full custom crafted finished stock, or something in between.
A plain walnut semi- inlet stock can be had for $150-$200. I do not know a current source for so called "drop-in" finished Mauser 98 sporter stocks in Canada.
A full custom stock from one of the more modestly priced makers in Canada will start around $2,500 to $3,000 depending on how fancy the wood is.
