I am not sure if this is where to ask or not.
But I have a Tikka T3 lite. In .204 ruger.
I have weaver bases on it right now, but even without rings at all my scope sits at the right I want it at, so how do I mount it at this height? Is there shorter bases I can get maybe? Who makes the shortest rings?
My bases right now are burris brand.

Burris used to make a low ring from what I understand, you could try finding a used set.

I went through this a year ago with my 452 and ended up settling on the lowest zee ring Burris currently offers.

Jeff000;
You do realize that a .84 (or .82) is to the center of the 30mm opening, right? That means there is only 0.34" of meat between the bottom of the 30mm hole (1.18") and the top of the Picatinny/Weaver rail. You can't get a whole heck of a lot lower than that. on a 44mm scope, your bell is about 2", which means that the bell of your scope ends up about 0-0.020" below the surface of your Picatinny/Weaver rail.

Off the top of my head, are Tikkas like Sakos, insofar as that even with "low" mounts like low optilocks, there is still a considerable gap between scope bell and barrel ?

i thought most low rings were .250. go to the web and read some specs. i recently purchased a set of 30 mm low warne rings, an amazing product for the price! they were $50 and a steal at that.

I managed to get some rings that mounted directly to the groves on the receiver so I didn't need bases.
I can't recall the brand, but will edit when I remember.
