i had the 87a it is really finicky. i do love the clickity clak gill rifles so i decided to give it another shot and scored the CIL 227 / Savage 87J it would be a larger framed version of the 87a with monte carlo stock and chromed barrel. it even shoots shorts. if anyone has the 87M for sale please contact me...

ive shot the other ones but cannot say to much on them...

Yeah yeah..smart arse lol. I seen that one...thus this topic was formed. Well I`d like 3 of the ones I listed. One of the 3 would most definetly have to be the mark 3 since I already have the mark 2.
They are not a rare rare item, but in nice shape fetch anywhere from $140-$180. I`m tossing the idea of maybe getting rid of a rare piece I own, but instead of straight out selling(which would likely bring more money)....I`d rather swap my one for all three. Guess I`d have to find that one guy and hope to god he is looking for what I have. lol its a long shot I know.

I have, or had your list (no Marlin here but hopefully temporary, and no Savage 64 )why? I also have gill-guns.

If you're looking for a MkIII there were 2 floating in the EE. One ad is a compete set MkI, MkII, MkIII.

Why would you be trying to sell one 64, but try to trade for another? What'cha offering for these fine, collectible gems?

I don`t have a 64 for sale. I`m just seeing what someone would have close to the list I presented. Really,....I`m not sure what I want other than a Mark 3 to go along with my Mark 2. The guy you are thinking of was "Winnipeg Toymaker" who has the 1,2 & 3. I`ve almost presented him with my offer, but then I`d have two Mark 2`s.
I haven`t pulled the trigger yet whether to sell, trade or keep what I have which is a: Gevarm E-1 (9/10 for shape) and a factory 8 shot mag and a 20 shot mag.
I know there were two of these a guy had on the EE with no mags and they both sold for $345. Im guessing with both 8 and 20 shot mags, that should sweeten the deal closer to $550 or better.
I figured a Marlin 60, Lakefield Mark 3 and a Cooey 64A in beautiful shape should ballpark about the same dollar figure. Its just finding the guy who might have these. That Cooey 64A on the EE for $180 is one sweet looking plinkster!!!
Last night I even thought to myself: I have enough 22`s, just find a Mark 3 in beautiful shape and something in between my 22`s and my 22-250...hmmmm maybe a .17hmr.

Some guys might read this post and think I shouldn`t be starting this, that it should be in the EE. Well I`m so bloody undecided that I couldn`t make an ad until I`m justified with what I want.
I think a big brother to exactly match my Mark 2 and a .17hmr. Straight up would be a real good deal for someone out there. I know what this Gevarm is worth and the mags.
I just have to clear my head and be happy with my decision.

i would say that the 60 is the better choice than the unique gill guns... even the old Glenfield models are nice. gotta love the last shot hold open.

Depends what you're looking for. Marlins are awesome, affordable, and still in production. The clackety-clack gill guns are no longer in production. Apples n' oranges really...I'm pretty certain the MArlin/Glenfield production started quite a while after the gills were out of production. Different eras, and very different guns.

You're hoping to swap one Gevarm (albeit with 2 magazines) for your list? I wish you the greatest of successes with your endeavor.

The 20 shot mag is worth a Mark 3 in respectable shape. A cheaper Savage line of the .17 is around the $350 mark. The gevarm and the 8 shot mag is easily worth that.
I might end up selling this outright down the road and buying from a couple different sellers. Just more hassle with shipping and transactions..thats all.

i think you put to much regard into your Gevarm mags, good luck fetching that high dollar your looking for. I've never paid near that much before. $550 for a Gevarm with 2 mags, is more of an online USA gunbroker ad.

Hold on to what you have and enjoy. keep on buying thats how i look at it. cuz youll miss them down the road.
