When your handguns weight 40+ oz

Showing off the new SP-01 I got off the EE. :D

Is the 40 ounces the weight of both of them? I have a reproduction Colt 1847 Walker that weighs 4 1/2 pounds (40 ounces ) it's like holding a 2 litre bottle of Coke at arms length.

16oz in a pound, think your math is off... 40oz = 2.5 lbs. I don't doubt that your revolver weighs 4.5 lbs though.

A factory 1911 is around 40oz. I've had race guns, Para frame with 5" slide, hybrid barrel and red dot tube scope that were around 60oz....nowadays most of mine are back in the 42oz range....lighter is better.

Interesting topic. I was side by side comparing a Glock 17 and a Beretta 92FS on the weekend. I could keep the muzzle dead flat between shots with the Beretta, but it was a lost cause on the Glock. The Glock is so light, it's near impossible to prevent muzzle flip. Sometimes heavier can be better :)
Beretta 92FS 34 oz
Glock 17 22 oz

I've been getting quite the workout with my recently acquired Desert Eagle.

67oz.

After getting used to holding it with it's big fat grip, my MP9 feels like a toy pellet gun to me now.

I like the heft of the sp-01 but im just waiting for my new 97b to come in and see how the weight is for that thing.

CZ97b is a big, heavy beast of a pistol. I much prefer a 1911 & a Sig 220 so I got rid of mine. Can't beat the proven Sig and 1911 ergonomics, for me anyway. 97b is a nice pistol.

I got rid of my sig 1911 cuz of reliability. Terrible gun. Love the CZ line of pistols and rifles figured i would grow it with their 45acp.
