Who owns a short barrel 6.5 Creedmore_Need some input.

Building one for a friend with a 21" barrel. Want to know what velocities you are getting with 140 grain bullets and which powders. Thanks.

2620 FPS on a 139gr scenars with 35.9gr of imr 4895

Use the same powder as you would for a long barrel.

Something in the 4350 speed.

You can use 4895, but velocity would be lower.

As I’ve got a 19 inch CM barrel ordered.

I’m going to try 4350 and 123,130 g bullets.

I just got my first rifle in 6,5 creedmoor . Went to the range last week and shot some tests in the thin 20 inches tube.

I got a very convincing group with the 130gr Game Changer bullet over 42gr of H4350 at 2730 fps.

Didn't get enough speed with the SST 140 and Superformance powder.

Will come back with more future results .

H4350 seems to be the powder of choice for the 6.5CM from most people experienced loading for it.
I've loaded with Varget, Hybrid 100V, and IMR4451 Enduron. Best results were with the H4350.
I'm loading for a 20 inch semi auto and a 24 inch bolt action and have switched both over to H4350 and won't be using anything else from now on.
It's one of the most temp stable powders as well from what I have found researching things.

I don't remember where I found this but it's the first time I've seen a chart like this.

20” Krieger. H4350. 143eldx. I’m getting around 2700 at 42.5gr worked up to 43.6 and had heavy bolt lift.

Factory 140 ELDM ammo gives me about 2560 out of the 19" IBI barrel on my Stag-10. A load that is usually a clone of the factory ammo (41.2 gr H4350 in Hornady brass with CCI200s loaded to 2.200 BTO) is giving me 2520 (must be a slow lot of H4350). I'll be doing proper load dev once I have 150 or so rds down the barrel.

My 6.5 is a 20 inch rem 700.

Shot through the chrono today some Hornady Match 140 gr ELDM with velocity on box listed as 2710fps.

40.0gr D4350 CCI 200 primer and speer 140gr hotcore= 2670fps from my M18,
The D4350 turned it into a tack driver when I had just about given up hope with 140's in this rifle.

factory 140gr American Gunner does 2500 fps from my 20" Tikka CTR

Handloads w/ H4350 are around 2600, RL16 a bit faster. 147gr ELDm over RL26 = 2700 fps
