I've got my eye on one of these. I'd like to hear from anyone who owns the exact model. What are it's pros and cons?

Thanks...

I have one but with a 5inch barrel . very accurate ,eats anything ,needs little care and cheap considering there s already a rail that comes with it and the mags are 25$ . A bit tricky to take appart at 1st but once u know how it works it s a piece of cake . U ll never have to change the barrel . same grip configuration as a 1911 .

Got that exact one... new in the box... from Wholesale Sports... several months back... was a heck-of-a-good deal...

Haven't fired it yet, though....

I've got the same one as pictured and its great fun, shoots the cheap walmart bulkpack ammo just fine so I can shoot all day without spending a pile of money:)

I just bought the regular non 22/45 Ruger MKIII with 51/2 inch bull barrel today. It's not the slabside, but it is a bull barrel. It's listed as the target model. For me I like the regular rather than the 22/45 but that's just personal preference. I know many prefere the 22/45.

Considering I already have a Ruger MkIII Hunter, that should tell you how much I enjoy shooting these pistols.

Have fun, it's cheap to shoot and lots of fun. They're a very fun pistol, well made and shoot great.

I hear you... I already had a standard Ruger MkII with the 5.5" bull barrel but always wanted a 22/45, too. I initially screwed up my order... thought I had ordered the MkIII 22/45 with the 5.5" bull barrel but found out that I had ordered the slabside one, as above. No matter, it has a 4.5" barrel and dimensionally is the same overall length as an actual 1911. So, I figure I got the best of both .22 semi-auto worlds now.

Which one is better to buy, the one with heavy bbl or just regular?
Also, how it compares to Browning ?

RPAL came in the mail today, so I did what any good new RPAL guy would do. I drove directly to Wholesale Sports in Edmonton and bought one of these. Price is $309.95 and comes with 2 mags. Extra mags are $25 each. Bought 3. Thanks for all the info guys. Looking forward to plinking away with it for years to come.

Peter Pan,
I prefer the bull barrel. Disipates heat very well. Even though a .22 doesn't get that hot I've still had the bull barrel warm up. Due to heat disipation, stiffness and barrel harmonics a bull barrel is supposed to be more accurate. The bit of extra weight also helps the pistol point well. Plus I just like the looks of it :D

I have a 4" Ruger 22/45, I paid $210 (US) for it, and I did not cozy up to it for a long time. My 22/45 exhibits a weird quirk, it does not seat magazines well all the time. With this said, the last time I took it to the range it was flawless. If I did not own my beloved Standard Model 4" Ruger MkI I would be vey happy with my 22/45. Regards, Richard:D
