Who says 410 cant be tacticool

Finally got my last few parts to build this tacticool 410 pump.
Started off as a Mossberg 410 raptor
I didn’t like the raptor grip but wanted a pistol style grip. Unfortunately just putting on a pistol grip brought the overall length under the required legal length. Found the AR stock adapter wich gave me the option of a pistol grip and kept the legal length. So not many after market parts for these guns. I like having the side saddle to hold more shells and ended up finding a guy on etsy that 3d prints these side saddles with a optic rail. It’s perfect and exactly what I was looking for. The one I bought he didn’t include the screws to mount and I had to source my own but I see now he is including the proper screws.I put a cheap red laser sight on but I’m probably going to upgrade to a TLR8 light / laser combo. I also wanted a AFG foregrip on it. I bought a few rails on Amazon and used the strap screws to secure the rail. I had to pre drill new holes and it worked out well. I built this for my home defence gun so my wife can use it. I know it’s not the most man stopping caliber but it’s something and I wouldn’t want to be shot with it. Please no comments about stopping power or self defence rules I think we herd enough about them.

Having no experience with 3d printed stuff. Would you trust it to hold up as an optic rail? Myself I love the lil 410. I'd love to have a rifled bore side by side

The rail/side saddle seems very solid and was bought mainly to hold extra shells. I think putting a light/laser combo on it will hold up fine.

Haven’t been out for awhile to test it. It’s only going to be a 3 yard distance gun at most

What loads are you planning on using?

.410 slugs and buck are pretty devastating at short range. Not my first choice but something set up properly will get the job done.

000 buckshot of the 3” variety has 5 pellets.
It also patterns quite well from my Shockwave.
I think it would be a fairly effective round.
410 slugs are notorious for under penetration. Most only penetrate about 7” of ballistic gel as they pretty much explode on impact. Only the Brenneke ones buck that trend.

I think it was a big mistake Mossberg dropped thier 410 with extended magazine and a laser pointer embedded in the fore end. You would be surprised the number of rural Alberta acreages, a 410 pump gun left as her home protector when husband is away on business.

I actually chronoed that stuff, should do close to 1100fps from your gun. The velocity on the box is for the "Judge" and similar abominations out there. That 3" 000 Federal stuff I traded you is a much better load IMO.

I like tacticool 410 for range fun for myself and manageable recoil for my wife and kids. The 410 raptor (with a stock you can shoulder) is a great option.
