so that they're more like wad cutters and make an easy to see hole on the paper at distance?

do you need to do anything differently?

does it affect chambering the round due to the sharp edges of the bullet?

Well a border Patrol load for 148gr WC 2" snubbies expands to .70 cal at 850fps and went through one side of a 45gallon drum at 100 yards leaving a nice welt on the other wall.Like the famous "flying Ashtray" in the .455 Webley..........Harold

so if semi-auto's would have an issue feeding backward seated bullets, should I take it to mean that wad cutter bullets in general aren't good for auto's?

if auto's can shoot wadcutters, I'd be interested in bullet recommendations for 9mm and .45 Auto. :)

It would depend on your gun as to whether it will work or not. Some autos won't feed worth a crap with certain bullets and others will eat almost anything. Experimenting within safe load data and bullet seat depths may be required.

Some auto's are designed to shoot only wadcutters, e.g. Walther GSP in .32 S&W long. Personally I've had great success with semi wadcutters in my .45.
