Need info ...who sells 80% lower receivers. There are few choices out there. Looking for one already anodized. I thought questar had one but I can't find it.
Any help? Thanks guys...
lol a pre anodized 80%? interesting i don't think they come like that do they? I asked about 80% receivers before and was laughed off. apparently they used to have them and now they are unobtainium. let me know what you find out.
I am sure I saw them somewhere. Weren't cheap. I know that someone on here did work on one. It didn't have finish on it but I saw them available with finish. They needed to have trigger group hole machined.
Well I will keep looking. I'm looking to use as a novelty not to work on. It's easier to get one finished...
If its for a novelty (paperweight), why not get a raw forging and paint it black with Krylon? Forgings are much less expensive, and would still make a fun show piece.
Considering you are still drilling and tapping holes, and the anodization hardens the surface, an anodized 80% lower would likely make it more difficult to work with, and you would have exposed metal when you're done.
Edit: I'll also add that the whole 80% lower receiver not being a firearm is a U.S. thing, not a Canadian thing. The legal status of an 80% lower as not a firearm has not seen an official position from the RCMP FRT lab or been upheld in court. 0% forgings are good to go, and I have seen Dlask Arms with them listed in the past.
Here's an 80% lower that's anodized....

I didn't say they didn't exist. I just pointed out that there would be exposed metal when completed and a hard coat anodizing would make it more difficult to work with, drilling the trigger pin holes and threading the rear of the receiver. Are either of those points incorrect or in dispute?
Dlask sold / sells them.
This is how my receivers come. This is an AR10 receiver
