Who sells buckshot?

I've only ever reloaded target load but the component prices are making it somewhat redundant. I figured I would try my hand at buckshot reloading, so I wanted to know who in the Calgary area or who in Canada will ship me some buckshot?

Unless the total reload cost isn't much different than buying factory loads?

Any help is much appreciated.:shotgun:

Commercially produced 00 buck is overpriced, you do save some but not as much as if you'd cast your own.
A 5lbs box of hornady 00 buck usually goes for $30-35; at 5lb that works out to be 70 shells if you're loading 9 pellets or 80 shells if you're using 8.

A lee 6 cavity 00 buck mold will only set you back $65 and you'll have 10lbs of buckshot within an hour or so.
 
Thanks guys. I have bought target load from Bilozir in the past. I will check out Epps as well, but since I have been thinking of trying wheel weight melting, perhaps I will look more closely at casting my own, partly because it is interesting as well.
 
I think your right iceman, I certainly need to do some research, but I was assuming the % of antimony would not cause any problems......maybe someone can enlighten me further?
 
00 buck doesn't quite have a set standard, it can vary from .31-.34 cal. True 00 buckshot is .33 cal; back when fiber wad were used, 3 pellets of .33 cal 00 buck would fit perfectly inside the hull. With the advent of the standard trap/skeet wad, true (.33 cal) 00 buck no longer stacks in a nice 3 pellet layer without bulging the hull.

One alternative is to use an 8 pellet load(2 pellets per layer, 4 layers). In my experience, these loads will usually require an overshot card to produce a nice crimp.

Another alternative is to cast/use undersized 00 buck(Also called 0 or #1 buck) around .31-.32 cal. This will allow the pellets to stack nicely inside a shotcup.

My personal (and rather unorthodox) method for loading true 00 buck is to cut the petals off the wad and use a shot wrap. This is probably the simplest way and I've found that it produces the tightest patterns.
