Who sells moly powder?

Just about every major auto-parts and specialized hardware store sells it. Molyslip moly powder comes in 1 pound plastic jars. If you visit their website, they have a search feature where you can find retailers that carry it in your area.

I don't know if I would be purchasing moly from an auto parts store. It is critical that the product for coating bullets and bores is pure moly, without any additives, and the finer the size the better. A moly paste is a good way to coat your bore, but using powdered moly can work as well. Try and avoid handling your bullets with bare hands. I got my moly from Rose Mill, Google them. I purchased the Super Fine moly which measures 1.5 microns and costs $48/lb (don't spill the container in the house). No problem getting it shipped to Canada.
The easiest way to coat your bullets is to pour them into a pill bottle with an eigth of a teaspoon of moly powder. Put the pill bottle in your tumbler for an hour or two, then pour the bullets onto a heavy paper towel laid over some newspaper. Rub the bullets vigorously, then pour them onto a clean paper towel and repeat, now they are ready to load.

If you bought 1lb (454gm), you have enough for 4 life-times with plently left over for all of your friends - and their friends.
I gave away 1/2 of my initial 200gm container, plate/coat everything and still have a surprisingly large amount remaining. Use very little. If you are worried about moly rubbing off on your hands, NECO sells powdered carbuba wax as a separate item. I do not use the wax.

If this is the stuff, it says its pure, so I don't see why it wouldn't work. Technical grade seems to imply that the particle size does not exceed a certain size, but also contains smaller particles, which is good. Rose Mill's standard fine grade moly is 6 microns, so I think you'd do alright with 3.8. At worst you'll have to use a bit more to do the same thing, but like Ben says, you almost can't use too little. In the end it will either work or it won't, if you get a nice even coating on your bullets, you're good to go.
