Who sells Parkerizing solution?

OTHER than PJs Products (who doesn't take credit card, or debit, or EMT), who sells parkerizing solution?

Can't ship from Brownell's, and I've never written a cheque in my life, let alone seen a money order.

You might consider the homebrew route. There was a pretty good thread about home parkerizing here a week or so ago with readily available materials. (zinc oxide, phosphoric acid, steel whool). There is also a good thread on it on the m1911.org forums.

I've heard good things about 'PJ's Gun and Metal Care' parkerizing solution .... but in my opinion, if you advertise on the web, you should be accepting a more convenient form of payment than money orders. But having said that, it seems their product is better value:

PJ's parkerizing product: $25 for 8oz ( mix 4 oz. per US gallon of water ) yields 264oz of solution, or 9.5 cents per oz.

Fabsports parkerizing product: $9.95 for 16oz (mix 1 pint solution to 4 pints water ) yields 80 oz of solution, or 12.4 cents per oz.

Manganese dioxide and phosphoric acid, I know, but it isn't turning out the way I want it to.

You can order direct from Radocy. You might actually have to get up and go to the post office to pick it up + pay Customs fees. The last time I did this, the cap broke off the bottle and the box got soaked. Luckily, they put the jug in a bag and I recovered most of the solution.

The process described in the thread shared above is exactly what I have done. I had the problem of the park rubbing off also. I will look into a basic solution for neutralizing the process, that may be where I've been going wrong.

at work we use oil to stop or nuetralize the chemical reaction. oil in a pail with a paint brush and cover it. we use are solution for drill stem parts in the oilfield
