Who still makes a 338 Win Mag rifle these days?

Who is still producing rifles in 338 Win Mag? I'm finding trouble finding much in stock aside from Tikka.

I know the Browning BAR used to come in 338, has that since been discontinued? 300Win Mag is the largest chambering I'm seeing listed for it.

I was hoping there would still be a few Sako 85s kicking around in 338 but they appear to be sold out.

Haven't seen anything from Ruger or Winchester in stock.

Is my best bet buying a Tikka T3x or waiting for the new Sako 90?

Any others?

There are tons of used 338’s around. Most haven’t seen 100 rounds I bet

This... definitely be going used, with the possibility a barrel or stock replacement. If new is required... then put one together.
There is a very nice Rem 700 KS on the EE right now... happiness is only a barrel away!

I was just browsing the Browning website and although the majority of 338 models have been discontinued it's available in a few xbolts, all with 26" barrels though.

I was hoping for something 24" or under.

The Benelli r1 is a decent option. It soaks up recoil nicely. The Sauer 101, 303 and 404 were available in 338 win mag, not sure if the new distributor can get them in for you or if you want to drop that much money on it.

You might want to put a wtb ad for the Sako 85. I'm sure there are some kicking around at stores that don't have an online presence. I ran into a bunch at a Canadian Tire a while back (the CT relocated to Sudbury).

Edit: who keeps voting the threads 1 star ?

Big Rock Sports has some Savages (57046, 57049, 57316, and 57355) in stock.

Most rifles chambered in "magnum" see little actual use. Over 30 cal ammo and components are very pricey. Poor fitting or design in stock, sees robust recoil. Twenty year old rifle, guy still has 16 of 20 of ammo be bought.

My friend had a model 70 in this caliber, and it was the recoil that convinced him to trade (that was back when ammo was affordable).
I don't have one, but recently acquired a 9.3 x 62, the same friend has fired it and found it to be "sharper" than the .338. I load my own, and while not cheap, it is much better than paying $60-110 dollars a box. After we each fired two shots through it, I concluded that 1) I needed a good recoil pad; and 2) I needed to shoot it more and work on my hold. With a slip-on recoil pad, and about 30 rounds through it, it still let's you know you fired a rifle, but no more bruising. LOL I rather like firing it, and it is surprisingly accurate.
