Hey Scarecrow,
Just thought I'd give you some advice on M6 bayonets and M305's.
Last year I received an M6 bayonet for Christmas for my then new M305.
It came from
http://www.e-gunparts.com/DisplayAd.asp?chrProductSKU=730610&chrSuperSKU=&MC= Manufactured under contract by Eickhorn in Solingen, Germany.
I had to order a flash hider with bayo lug and castle nut pliers from Girls Guns and Fast Bikes.
The lug came and found that the bayonet had half a centimeter of sliding action when attached and locked into the lug.
After several emails between Girls Guns and Fast Bikes and myself, we found out that the Eickhorn M6 bayonet was missing the stopping lug in the groove of the handle.
He had sent me a picture of his Imperial Bayo to show what the groove should look like.
So the problem wasn't with the bayo lug he had sent me.
Great sale and service by Girls Guns and Fast Bikes by the way. Thanks again.
I then contacted
http://www.e-gunparts.com and told them the problem. They said all of their Eickhorn M6 bayonets were missing the stop lug.
I then contacted Eickhorn.
They responded:
"In the last 5 years we have produced the M6 bayonet without the lug stop.
Unfortunately we do not produce this bayonet any more."
I still have the Eickhorn M6 bayonet, but will have to make my own stop lug by inserting a piece of metal into the groove.
I did happen to get another M6 bayonet unissued and still in it's original package off E-bay recently for just under $40 Canadian.
It fits properly, but it didn't come with the scabbard. I have one from the Eickhorn though.
Now to replace the flash hiders........
Hope this helps anyone considering a bayonet for their M305.
