You guys are really trying to bait me.... I could use a road trip. Lemme check my summer calendar....
The difficulty with giving the clinics is controlled by the facilities that host them. When Skullboy hosted the clinic at Slavex's Abbotsford club, we had so much fzcken space. Skullboy put together a couple of tables (I think) using that ParaLaminate wood. Damn that stuff was strong. Then he bolted a couple of big fzcken vises and we rebarreled a few M14's right then and there. We had more tables for glass bedding (DEVCON) Rooster33's 2 M1As. Someone brought in a bench grinder and drill press. Perfect for removing Norinco flash hiders. Afterwards, a bunch of CGNutters test fired their new barrels and we had a shztload of fun. These make for very long days, but lots of fun.
At my basement 2003 clinics, we squeezed in over 18 people and their guns. We re-parkerized 2 M1 Garands. We installed at least 3 barrels on M1's and M14's. We even glass bedded Rifledude's M14 in place. Hogged out / routed out the relief channels for the JB Weld to drop into place.
So it's hard to say what can and cannot be done depending on the facilities that host them. Jamie was at my Spring 2002 clinic here in Collingwood. We did not have a vise, but at least we hogged out a couple of my USGI flash suppressors with a # 7 tapered pin reamer. I think I even got Jamie to route out one of my stocks before glass bedding.
Life being perfect we need a 6" vise on a heavy motherfzcking bench for starters. Access to a sink and stove (Muriatic acid for prepping the metal and Radocy Parkerizing solution). More drill presses, grinders, lathes... yada yada yada
You will be surprised at how much work we can get done and how much information is / was shared at these clinics. I amaze the shzt out of myself.
Hey Skullboy ! Are you up for another Abbotsford Cinic ? I know I can do THAT one !! You all have seen it on my video.... This clinic I do know is very doable, just a matter of time in July/Aug.... hey... August is doable... I'm not shooting at NSCC or CFSAC like years before...or running the butts.
I guess, what limits me right now is the upstart of Operational Shooting Assoc. We are scheduled to run a record number (4 of them) Service Rifle matches along with some CQB for many of our military & LEO clients. Then I also have to help run : Pistol clinics, tac-carbine clinic and matches, and then shoot/run 3 gun matches. The OSA is keeping me busy preparing for matches. Many of you CGNutters are also OSA members, and you know the level of involvement I share with the OSA group.
