Just seeing how much interest there would if someone made a Mag Kit ( new triggerguard/mag ) for a Mauser 98, Like the C3A1 or Parker Hale M85/87, Using 5-10rd mags. If there is, Maybe we could get Kyle Precision Arms to make them or Vbull. I know there are a lot of people that uses Mauser's for custom long range rigs. I know I got one I could send off to those places but I wanted to see how much interest there would be. Might be a chance for people to finish there C3A1 builds. I like Mauser's, I dunno, I got 3 rigs all based off Mauser action. It be something different then a Rem 700 or Savage which you see a lot of parts being made for.

Everybody makes stuff for Rem/Savage, I would like to see more things made for the Mauser. Its hard w/o paying A LOT for stuff for it. I remember was looking for a aftermarket triggerguard and it was like over 200$ for it.

My first Mauser I own I was looking to make it a C3 and ended up being a bench gun.

Nice idea, but I'm not sure if their is enough demand. Problem with the M85 bottom metal is that it used modified M14 mags so it would be limited to 5 rds. I picked up a stock, bolt, and bipod for an M85 from the UK but didn't buy the bottom metal just for that fact. Second, you're limited to rounds that will fit a small action with that mag.

Lots of Parker Hales out there with detachable mags. The bottom metal is exactly the same as that used on the C3. You just have to locate the mags, which, I admit, is tough. I have a 1200C in .300 Win Mag that uses a modified M87 or C3 style mag.

If you look over on snipercentral their is a guy who's going to be building new Mausers using a copy of the Parker Hale M87 set up. Do a search for Losok or MLammers. Don't tell anyone it looks like a Parker Hale set up though, doing that got me kicked off the board.

ETA: Nice mock up. Is that an IA mag from those modern enfields?

Leg the Enfield rifle that Marstar brought in from Australia uses a 10 rnd mag that is simular to the m14 mag and does work in the M14 although not well as the mag is missing the detent opening in the front

Glad you like it!

It needed some extra work. I replaced the bolt shroud with one with a Safety. Did some metal work on that triggerguard, Must have when you welded it flexed a bit so I re-bent the triggerguard. Cleaned up the weld slag on the follower and mag. Actually got a proper bipod mount for that internal rail. Epoxied the internal rail to the stock. Up next is refinishing the action.

As you know I got quite a few Mauser's. But I gotta say out of them all, this one is the slickest one ever. I'll be planning on making a few more mags for it, maybe some 5 rd mags. This is gonna see the range a lot.

Hope you don't mind that I'm gonna see about getting this comerically made.
