Is it me, or is Bush signalling Heil Hitler while reviewing these German Navy honor guard troops with Nazi K98k rifles??? And what's with that Seaman on the extreme right eyeballing bush's ass while wearing blush and lipstick??? i think he's standing next to Colin Farrell...?

Left hand, Mr. President. These people are a little sensitive.

Nice K98's, though. And the German Navy is very inclusive, thanks very much, even of those who prefer to be called Marjorie and whose dress uniform is a little backless number in red satin...

I believe I just made Karl Doenitz roll over in his grave.

i always love it when people bring up Ws education...anybody here go to Yale?
reminds me a bit of Chretien, wicked smart but because of the injury to his face people thought he was an idiot (much to our collective dismay as he stayed in power so long...)

Of course I know he is waving ;) I didn't post it to actually make fun of GWB, but rather b/c the honor guard was carrying Nazi K98k's which raised an eyebrow... I'd have expected chromed G3's.

In fact, nothing says Nazi like a German soldier hefting a K98k... They couldn't look more inappropriate to the PC crowd if they were holding Stg44's and goose-stepping IMHO, but it's still interesting.

The photo was taken from a US gov't site. Whoever is the PR Censor for the oval office should be sacked for letting that one up onto the website. The Nazi salute to German sevicemen armed with Hitler era weapons - oh brother.

I have no doubt Chretien was smart as a younger man, but frankly for his last 2 terms I wonder if he wasn't a bit senile the way he ran the good ship Canada down the sh!thole... ;)

LOL - I just wrote the US State Department an e-mail...

Hi,

I thought I should point out that you may want to rethink posting this picture on the State Dep't website. The moment the photographer took the photograph was unfortunate, as the President's arm is halfway through a waving motion leaving the impression he is giving the Nazi salute while reviewing German troops armed with Nazi era weapons.

I thought I should point this out as it is generating discussion on internet forums. I am not an American (I'm Canadian) but I respect the office of the Presidency and feel that perhaps this doesn't cast the president in the best possible light.

Kindest regards,
###X

Claven you probably just made the NO-FLY list and are now banned from entering the U.S

You think? I doubt it. If anything a web guy at state is trying to figure out how they didn't notice that when it was posted ;)

Photographs are a split second in time, and they dont show us what happened before or after this split second. I actually have a photography of my history prof that looks like he's making a sieg heil when he was just pointing to something.

I don't see it. It is very obvious to me that he is just waving. As for the rifles being from the Nazi era, I didn't know that and I bet that 99% of the people that will look at that picture won't either.

Hey, the land he's walking on is from the Nazi era.

Have you even heard the man speak/babble?

:D

Also he admits he does not read history, or even newspapers for that matter, in fact many Political scientists...many from Yale, have mentioned that He is the most uninformed president the USA has ever had.

Noticed Something:

arent the Kriegsmarinne supposed to have k98's w/out bayonet lugs?

As for being educated at Yale, its highly irrelivant. Judge a man by his leadership qualities(W still not too good on that account), not his university diploma.
