Hi,

Not sure what forum this goes in.
I'm looking at FV, FV-SR, and BV mark II.

Nobody around here seems to have FV or FV-SR, one local dealer has a BV for a decent price.

Wholesale sports does carry all models, has anyone had good dealings with them?

on this site they are reffered as NOSALE SPORTS, lots of people have issue with them , customer service needs a revamp and managment all need to be fired and hire some people with heads on they're shoulders not in they're a$$

I don't know about other stores but Nanaimo WSS used to employ very well-schooled shooting people, competitive shooters and ex-tactical squad coppers... Very helpful staff in the old Edmonton store, and well-schooled but slightly aloof staff at Calgary headquarters.
I wanted to buy a butler creek barrel for my 10-22 in Edmonton - they didn't have the one I wanted, so the sales guy sold me one up the ladder for staff price, which was less than what I was looking at for the first choice. Lotta gophers, rabbits and NZ possums gave it up to that rifle.

If your in nanaimo why wouldn't you go to gone fishing? They'll match or beat any of the prices, way better customer service, when you order something they stay on top of it, and bring in inventory more than once a year. I also like to support local businesses. If you've lived in nanaimo for awhile you might remember Earny Johnsons, now that was a gun shop.

The last few times I've been into the Calgary store, things seem to have changed for the better. More stock and far better customer service. Walked out (happy) with rifles, optics and accessories. Hopefully it's a sign of change for the future.

The OP is in Ontario. I am pretty sure his question is about mail order, not in store customer experience, or stock.........

OP, I have ordered over the phone several times without issue.

From what I have heard I wouldn't look for any help with any questions, and the in store service sucks, but if you know what you want and they have it what is the issue?

Since you are in Ontario I don't assume you will be flying down there and looking for service in the store, so most of what has been posted here means sweet f all.

Call them up with the item number to be sure it's in stock and order it.

WSS in Saskatoon has made a huge improvement as of late. I have a feeling the new competition of Cabela's opening up in town might have had a part in the improvement. Prices are still out to lunch though.

I have heard that they list lots of items as if they have them but when you order they actually have to order them and it can take forever to actually recieve the items

I WAS in Nanaimo (Nanoose Bay, actually). Ontario now. Gone Fishing had good stock on reloading supplies - the ones I needed, anyway (varget, lrp, srp, bullets), competition ammo.. However there are a couple of fairly well stocked shops around here. Might try an excursion to Elwood Epps this weekend and test out the new (to me) car while I'm at it...

I'm not one to mudsling a supplier but Wholesale Sports will never see another penny from me. They by far have the most arrogant sales people around, the customer service is awful. I went in recenetly to purchase a Winchester Defeneder. I was walking in with a gentleman one evening. He was first to the counter and had some ammunition questions. The "Salesman" and this fellow discussed .22 ammunition for roughly 45-50 minutes. I did make eye contact with the "Salesman" a few times and he did realize I was there.

In the meanwhile another fellow walked up to the counter (this is in the evening and they were short staffed, ill give them that). They had finished their conversation (the gentleman did not purchase a thing) and the Salesman walked right buy me and helped the other person that just arrived. I just lost it and quietly left.

Again, I will never purchase another item from Wholesale Sports in Deerfoot Medows Calgary.

I hope I'm not being too harsh.

I have ordered a few things from them before. The shipping wasn't super fast (compared to some on this site) and i don't recommend big orders, if you order one or two items, they usually have them in stock, but if you order 5-10 smaller things to add on, one or two is always "on backorder". I have always gotten a call or email within a few days if they don't have something in stock, but unless they have it now, don't hold your breath for it. They say they will back order it or try to pull it from another store, but it takes forever if ever to get it.
Overall, i've never had a terrible issue with them, and while i would much rather support one of the dealers here, they don't always have everything.

The website prices are hard to beat but the locations never have anything in stock. The customer service reps at the counter are rude and ignorant. From 10 recent visits they have what I've wanted in once, and the items are far from obscure.

My one and only experience with them wasn't overly great. After 3 weeks from placing my order, I called to ask if there were issues with something (maybe I had given them wrong info on my address?), but the lady on the phone was very polite, and said they were waiting for me to call and give them permission to hold the order until all the pieces came in..... ???? Their items said "In Stock" online before I called it in..... And weren't they doing that anyway??? So after 6 weeks I finally got my order, not overly impressed, and have no intention of going back there.

If you still want one ..P and D (sponsor) probably has what you want. Check out their website. They have a current list of rimfires listed.

I've had poor results purchasing though Wholesale, but I've also had great results. I think every individual salesman deserves a chance.... Painting with the same brush isn't right now is it?
