Well I have to say that I've seen it all now! My friend came over with an aparently unfired Norinco SKS that he said wasn't firing when cocked and it wasn't. We took it apart and on comparison with another trigger group discovered that the disconnector(#6) had been filed down, or something like that. The area in question is where the disconnector rises at the angle and is directly underneath where the hammer(#1)sits when in the trigger guard. In essence, the horizontal area at the crux(where the "6" is in photo) is filed flat with even a litlle dishing. There is no hump.It seems this causes the disconnector to lift higher underneath the hammer thus altering the angle that the trigger bar?(#8) contacts, or should I say does not contact the sear(#10). Am I close? Like I said the gun looks unfired and there are no other marks of bubba having snuck under the wire. I'll start with a new disconnector from marstar and see if this helps. Is this someones attempt at FA? Who knows. Any other ideas for repair would be appreciated. Cheers Pete

Either way its a good story and almost as funny as this bubba job... and will take quite some time to put back together, judging from past experiences with my own rifles and various pins

There's a Norinco sks for $175 at a shop here in Kelowna. I was thinking about just settling for that one for the price. I want one for the sake of having one. That shop is normally pretty far off price for things compared to other stores, but $175 doesn't seem to bad.

Chances are though some bubba had his way with it already :)

We'll see.

They didn't appear to know what the Belgian poacher .410 on the rack was.. I asked the price because it was a cute little thing and they wanted to figure out what it was first before they sold it.
