I prefer airguns for many reasons. The technologies have improved for pcps which allow semi auto, bigbore and low recoil systems. I read somewhere that airguns in the past were feared by Napoleon. They were expensive compared to a musket because of multi functions. Faster reloading time, accuracy, and no muzzle flash.

I enjoy air guns because you can make your backyard or basement into a range. The power can be adjusted to fit your lifestyle (springers, co2, pcp). Ammo is cheaper and isn't messy with cassings. Shooting at 100 yards is like shooting a powder burner at 500. Field target can be a lot of fun using an airgun too.

I was at the range today and shared my air guns with some of the members. I brought my fx revolution (semi auto) and eun jin sumatra (under lever action). Most of them were surprised to see how much airguns have changed since they were younger. What impressed them was how accurate they were shooting at 50 yards.

Just curious to see what most of you guys think?

Because I don't have to drive 130km for a carefully planned 'session'. I shoot whenever I feel like it in my room.

Relaxing childhood memories of wandering the farm learning to stalk game properly and making one shot count..................back to basics...........Harold

Many people as kids had BB guns or cheap pellet rifles. Because of that they still believe that those airguns are representative of all airguns.

Why air guns over powder burners

I think that there is a place for both the 300 to 400 yd kill of large game for powder and pest control and small game for the air gun.
I like the fact that my Discovery has zero recoil, very little noise and great accuracy.
I have both but use the air guns more.:D
Cnob ;)

"cause I just want to shoot :)

I shoot both air and powder, but I can shoot air whenever I want and with very little prep. I am fortunate to have a 40 metre airgun and archery range on my property. After supper I can grab a coffee and the kids and plink for 10 minutes or an hour. To shoot powder outside of hunting season I must drive 30 mins min to hit the range.

My air rifles have given me many hours of pure fun!! at 8 bucks and under for 500 rounds even .22 arent as cheap!! i agree with sir 60 to 100 are loads of fun!! i live on the ocean 50 ft from the house! and flotsam has given me lots of strange targets ..lol
Having said that i still love the earth shattering "KAABOOOMMMM" of my 7mm Mag and 10 gauge, yes i is immature and i love it...lol
happy hunting

I like airguns for the indoor ability, no range ability for trigger practice etc. I just need to find funds for my new one...lol.

I don't play favorites .Love muzzleloaders,pistols ,shotguns,rifles,crossbows ,all archery,and pellet guns.Mostly hunting +pest control...............Harold
