Shooting some reloads today and had my first ever squib. 200 grain campro FCP-TC with 5.3 grains of Winchester 231 CCI 500 spp 1.22 oal. Shooting out of a Ruger Redhawk with moon clips. A couple of rounds before the squib sounded very light like the powder hadn't completely burned and the squib left a lot of unburned powder. When I took apart the unfired rounds the bullet came out with much effort. Could I be using to light a crimp? I shot 24 reloads with titegroup that all went off fine and they were crimped at the same time as the Winchesters. While I have the attention of experience, I see in my manual some recipes for loads with the powder simply identified as 231 not Win 231. Is this a different powder? Do you think I could use the Win 231 safely with large pistol primers?
Thanks in advance.
