Why don't they ship..

HI al

What changed? Why won't the major reloading company's ship presses up into Canada? You use to be able to buy Dillon or RCBS stuff direct.

I have searched.

Cheers

A member of my pistol club just had some Dillon stuff shipped to him recently without any problems.... They just won't ship casings or primers or powder or firearms etc....

Unfortunately, Ever since RCBS was taken over by Blount they have been anti Canadian. I personally support companies like Redding who appreciate the Canadian market.

RCBS says on their website that they can't ship to Canada, but I know for a fact they will ship warranty parts. The problem is, the $9.00 part I needed wound up costing them $22.90 in shipping (it was right on the outside of the package), PLUS, they had to do all of the BS paperwork that the US government requires them to do. It took 6 weeks from the time the guy said "I'll get it on it's way" until it arrived at my door if I remember correctly.

I don't know if they will still ship individual presses though. It would actually be cheaper for them to do the paperwork once on a truck load than to do it with every single press.

Hornady won't ship either, the LnL Ap is a no go, you can't even get Cabelas to ship it to Canada.
I thought that Dillon didn't ship either....maybe it is time to swallow the blue pill.....but I really like the red one. LOL

Right now some of them (Dillon for example) will still ship presses and accessories. As has been mentioned, they just cannot send ammo components. I'd suggest anybody who wants a press or similar item get it soon however as it's anybody's guess as to how long this will continue. It's very likely only a matter of time before re-loading equipment will be added to the list of items that cannot be shipped over the line to individuals. Like guns, gun parts, or ammunition components you'll have to get them from dealers with import licenses, and the price will reflect that.

It is Cabela's policy to not ship to Canada, certainly there is no legal issue stopping it. As for Hornady, last time I looked they won't sell any major equipment direct to anyone, regardless of country of residence. They are insisting that all sales go through distributors, because they are just too busy to tie up factory personnel with individual sales.

I ordered a Hornady LNL AP in December from Natchez Shooter's Supply, and had it by early January, complete with the allegedly elusive #1, #16 and #45 shellplates.

If you're in the lower mainland area, why not just get the press shipped to one of the US parcel service companies that are set up. I know that at least 2 are in Blaine.

Just drive over to WSS - I-5 exit 229, they have LNL AP for $429.95.

Some stores or companies won't accept Canadian CC and ship to US or Cnd address if they don't ship to Canada.
To get major US CC you need SSN.

Some don't; but I've yet to have a problem with Cabelas, or Grafs. As for any that wont take my CC, then to hell with them, there's enough that do.
