Why dose my ag42 b not match up with others?

Well to start, no rifle is ever like another one of the same make, they all seem to look and operate differently in their own way.

One good example I have is when I had two Gewehr 71.84s that were only a 1000 units off from another from the same maker and year which was roughly a day or two on the production schedule. Both looked and operated quite differently.

Do they Ljungmanns have provision for a cleaning rod ? If not, then you know why yours doesn't have one.

The brass disc was likely removed by a Swedish armourer, is the hole filled in with a wood plug ?

I'm also not sure what you mean by "mark on the butt from storage". If you mean handling marks from being in storage crates then the answer is probably yes.

Has your stock been sporterzied by chance ? I have seen a few Ljungmanns out there owing their new look to bubba.

The cleaning rod on an AG 42b is supposed to be under the barrel at the front band. The stock disk, (not disko, which is a dance floor,) is in a hole in the right side of the butt stock. If the hole is there, someone has removed the stock disk.

Pictures really help when you are unsure of something.

there is no spot on the stock to keep the. Cleaning rod ... there is no brass disco on the stock ... says it was made in 45 ... also did any come with a spot on the but for storage ?

the problem is, you might not have an "AG 42", but a "Hakim" instead!

Please make sure to get your rifle's caliber checked before firing any live ammo.

The AG 42 is in 6.5x55, while the Hakim is in 8x57.

Never seen any with storage in the stock through the butt plate. All I've seen have solid butt plates with 2 screws.

How about a picture?

Top rifle...you can see cleaning rod passing through just above bayo-mount. I've not seen butt-stock storage on a ljungman, but theres LOTS I haven't seen...
