Why have I not heard of Savage 64 takedown?

I saw one for the first time today. I was looking for a little pack rifle and this one is quickly going to the top of the list. Have any of you tried one? I like the steel barrel light weight and good price point. How about you fellas?
 
Yes, I've had the regular 64 for a few years. The mags get warn by the bullet rims 'shaving' them, but you can bend them back every couple hundred rounds. They're some sort of pot metal. I complained to Savage via email, with pics, and they sent me 3 new mags to replace the 3 I'd worn out :d!! I can get 10 round groups of 1 / 2 " at 25 yards, with just a 4x scope.:) BTW the mag release is pretty small as is the bolt handle - I have a post somewhere that shows 'bubba mods' I did on these and measurements of the magazines I modded before I got the new ones.
