AMMO SHORTAGES;
This subject comes up on a regular basis....
Simply put. it is too costly and too time consuming a process to get ammo approved for importation into Canada....
Simply reading through the regulations will clearly illustrate my point
The ironic thing is that a lot of ammo you see in the US was sold there by our company.

An American ammo company that I used to buy components from sent me an e-mail, begging me to buy. he said that after obamma was elected, there was a huge run on ammo and components. Now nobody is buying becasue they have so much horded. He re-ordered a lot of stock, thinking that busienss was good - just in time to find sales have stopped.
He is worried for his business.
I wish i could help him. prices have never been better down there.

I gather you mean "horrible"?
If you reload, it's not! It's really that simple.
Additional to this, Canada is a small market, so volumes are not high enough to lower prices and justify increased supplies.

Geez, I haven't had thay problem in Alberta. Between gunshows and gun stores here you can generally find anything you need these days.
You know, I'm finally gonna call BS on these types of statements. Sorry you had to be the lucky recipient.
We (Canada) have roughly 10% of the population of North America. There is not a manufacturer or supplier anywhere that would turn their nose up at what is conceivably 10% of their business. It might even be a higher percentage now that the American market is saturated, plus there might be a good profit to be made selling here as we Canadians like to pay more for almost any goods.
Funny how a demand for almost any other type of goods in Canada is met with an adequate supply, while ammo seems to make it's way across at just the right volume to keep us hungry. Must be some quirk in the global economy..........

I don't know about that. I still am having problems finding small rifle mag primers, large and small pistol primers, any different types of powders and some brass.
