Is there a reason the Bond Arms Snake Slayer is so expensive? They look pretty cool and like they would be fun but they are the same price as a Glock/M&P...which seems odd to me? they are even more then 2x the price from some places here compared to the USA which is a huge difference.

Secondly...does anyone else make Canadian legal "derringer" sytle pistols that are more affordable? Anyone make them in .357/.38?

Much thanks,

UTAF

Bond makes them in lot's of calibers but not in 4 1/4" barrels.

It would be nice if they did a run for us with a few extra barrels but according to people that know more then me, Bond Arms is busy enough and not interested in custom orders from Canada.

I've never been able to figure out why they are so pricey up here either?

Bond Arms does make em in 4 1/4" because Ive owned one and I have no 12.6, but I can guarantee they won't do special orders for us way up here in Canada. Your best bet would be to contact them directly and ask.

I think you misunderstood what Can-down was trying to say. I think he knows they make .45, 4 1/4" barrels. I think what he is trying to say is they don't offer other calibers with the same 4 1/4" barrel length to us Canucks.

And yes, they should.

Not surprising as it is likely a PITA to do a run for Canada, pay for the paperwork and import fees, get them up here, etc.

Plus it is a limited specialty market up here. Specialty market, specialty price.

Tons of people have a Glock of one gen or other. Not many have a Snake Slayer.

I don't own one but would like to try one sometime.

I have asked Bond arms if they were planning on making any Canadian legal length barells in other calibers and they said no.Dont think they are interested at all:mad:
The price has come down quite a bit for new ones.Seen them as low as 569.00 new
I was lucky enough to pick up a NIB one for a great price off of here.:)

Cheapest you will get new is Kodiak Outpost I believe!
- 589 I believe

Most expensive is Frontier!
- 769 I believe

I am seriously considering one myself. They are pretty cool but not really practical at all. Knd of a pain to reload after every 2 shots. My New Vaquero is as slow as I like to go. Now if CCW was an option it would be a great choice.

Old west guns has them for 660 in 357/38 with the option to buy the 45/410 barrell for 220 or vice versa. I'd really only be interested in the 357 version

$569.00 Arms East:)

We matched, then sold out. Proof positive that competition keeps driving prices down. Until we had them for $589 other dealers lowest were $650.

More on the way.

To answer the OP question, these guns have typically had a lot of demand with limited supply. That drives prices up. Supply has improved in the last few months so prices are now coming down. However, when comparing prices stateside make sure you compare the 4.25" snakeslayer IV because the other bond arms models go for significantly less.

I don't know...... they already make a 4 1/4" barrel so we know they can do it.

NAA went and made special runs with longer barrels that were not even part of their regular product line!

Bond Arms just doesn't care enough about special orders and while I may not like it.... it's their show and a free world. (for some of us)

They have a hard enough time keeping up with demand in the US! They are pretty popular according to the guys at Buffalo Gun Centre so why do they care? They are not hurting for sales thats for sure.

This is true. They don't seem interested in custom builds. But if they decide to make them in reasonable numbers, there will certainly be a market here too.

It looks like this might be newly available. We have been looking into it for importation asap if possible.

I will then have to buy another for myself, because I enjoy my 45/410 so much.

Very fun guns.

:)

Will you import some barels in 357/38. How about other calibers.
Would love to have
357/38
9MM
22LR or 22 mag
Already have the 410
