Why isn't 10/22 restricted?

Handguns are restricted by type, handguns with barrel lenghts under 105mm are deemed "prohibited."

A factory made semi auto rimfire rifle under 26" overall length is restricted. There is no restriction on barrel length or magazine capacity. I am building a clone of a Ruger 10/22 (using a custom Volquartsen receiver) that'll be classed restricted so it can be super short, 8" barrel and folding stock well under 26" OAL.kuulnor said:
