Why No Love for Ruger P-pistols in this forum?

My P-85 is called "The Junk Yard Dog". It shoots anything I shove down it and has never misfired. Unfortunately I can't say the same for my Para or even my Colt Gold Cup!
It's big and clunky but I'd trust anytime! Finding mags is a pain in the ass though.

I owned the safety model. Because my first (auto)handgun was a 1911, I found the backward safety a bit confusing. I'd buy another Ruger, but only a model with hammer drop only.

I owned a KP89DC and a KP944DC, and found them both to be excellent pistols. Never had any issues with jams feeding hardball ammo... never did shoot HP with them.

Accurate, heavy, and reliable! No complaints from my end.

My first pistol was a P85, so I'll always have a fondness for them. However, it suffered from all the above complaints. The trigger was long, heavy and gritty, and that was after a trigger job.
Never gave me any trouble, dead reliable, but I couldn't hit a damn thing with it.

On the other hand, I have a Ruger Mk.1 5.5in bull barrel that I wouldn't part with. Very accurate, wonderful trigger.
