I've never fired a shottie with a pistol grip (obvious from the question, and I still have my front teeth).

Why can't you aim them in the 'traditional' way. What changes the physics?

If you want to hit your target, you can aim with a pistol grip only shotgun , you just have to push with your pistol grip hand and pull with your fore end hand and sight as if it had a stock. If you shoot from the hip you will probably shoot over the target.

I've read on this forum twice in the last little while about not aiming....so it's the grip...vs. the position that you have to watch.

For shooting from the hip, practice practice practice, and or Mount a laser pointer aiming device, or at least a flashlight. :D

I've got a Vindicator grip on mine which allows you to hold your hand as high on the grip as you like. This, combined with a sling that you can push out to the limit creates a good brace that allows for aimed shots. That, along with Bearman's tips should keep you from doing dental work on yourself and hit the target too.

Hurting yourself while aiming a pistol grip usually results from complacency or plain underestimation. Brace yourself and hold on and you'll be fine.
