Was going to put these up on the weekend with that flurry of other threads, but didn't get around to it. This one was shipped in 1889, I've had it now for many years. Some case colouring remains on the receiver and lever, but the barrel has been set back and rechambered (so this barrel has been "cut" so to speak). The barrel appears to have been reblued, and unfortunately whoever did it polished much of the roll stamping off. It was also restocked (professionally, really nice job - and with beautiful wood). The sights are not original either. So it's a shooter not a collector. The bore is a true sewer pipe and one day I'll either get it relined or rebarrelled, since it is a shooter anyway:

Nice looking gun. Really weird that less than a week ago I never even knew these were a thing and now there are 3 different ones on here. Pretty wild for something they stopped making almost 90 years ago.

Beautiful wood on that rifle. You may be able to get a new barrel with the proper stamps on it from Hunter Restorations for a fairly reasonable price, chambered in whatever cartridge you prefer.

Mike Hunter does a first class job of his barrels, including octagon barrels. He made one in 40-82 for me several years ago.
