Did you know that the .416 Barrett cartridge is faster and flatter shooting than the .50 BMG because it drops 70 inches less at 1000 yards and has an incredibly high ballistic coefficient?

The model included in the kits is the Mark 4 4.5-14x50mm w/ Mil Dot reticle and M1 knobs. The SKU is 54560. This telescope is the issue telescope on the U.S. Army’s M107 Rifle, which is their version of the 82A1.

Quick question from the poor & un-initiated, what can you do besides put holes in paper with anything as big as a .50,.416,.458 etc? Can you legally hunt with a round like that? Say for instance Ram hunting or something along those lines? That's a very nice rig but what is it's practical application outside of being a long range percision target shooter? I know my range is only certified up to .338, where could you use this thing if you decided you had the $?

it's non restricted (I think?) and hunting regulations depend on where you are.

If your range happened to be beside Crown Land, you could shoot it there.

Target shooting on crown land, and depending on hunting laws in your area you could probably take large game at 1000m+ but I wouldn't recommend it due to damage to the meat.

You don't just have to punch paper! You can punch steel...and cars...

Gotta love a forum when someone speaks the plain, fun truth

Squirrel hunting on farm land. Once you place the fear into other squirrels in the area that you can turn them into a magical fine pink mist from 1000 yards, they will never wake you up ever again. It's been told they will also start attending the local oak tree every sunday to praise worship to the mighty .416

While the primary purpose of a round like the 416 Barrett is definitely a long range target shooting (you can define target), with proper bullets it could be used for hunting, although I'm not sure I would want to hump that up and down the mountain sides where the sheep and goats live. There are also lots of places across the country where the ability to a very long distance is available on privately owned or crown land, and when you have that opportunity, they are a lot of fun and the pursuit of that long range target, where it be metal, wood or paper can be come a true addiction.
