Maybe it's just my perception but there seems to be a fair number of XD 40's up for sale lately. I've never shot this pistol (handled one last year at Phoenix in Edmonton) so I am wondering why such a new arrival would be on the chopping block already? Maybe it's just one of those scenarios where,"I bought it, shot it, didn't like it..." I have been considering one so I am curious. Any opinions on this? Thanks.

It could just be coincidental timing.... There are always times where 3 or 4 of the same gun are listed for sale and sometimes it is a new gun and sometimes it is an older one. Just last month, there were two SP-01s for sale and I certainly would not say they are bad guns... just coincidental timing.

XDs are nice guns (I still like Glocks more). If you felt one up and liked it, it will provide you with years of good service.

Very true Gorky, very offen if I want to do research on a certain gun and I will notice they were on sale in the EE broad and I will wonder why? like the mentioned SP101. But I found the most common gun that onsale in EE is HK, Walther P99. Glock etc. Xd is the least.

I was happy with my XD9, but I sold it because I wanted a S&W .45. I also prefer a pistol with a manual safety for holster work, even though the XD has a grip safety. And the price of the XD is pretty good for a new pistol, so there's probably alot out there right now.

maybe alot of people buy them for IPSC..cause they are cheap..and end up not liking the gritty trigger?

selling mine so i can fund a kimber
they are a good enough gun and i thourghly enjoy mine but a kimber is over 2x the price and the $$ has to come from somewhere

I just bought an XD9 to go with my XD40:D

The trigger does takes some time to get used to (at least it did for me).
I can see how some people would perfer some pistols over the XD, but I doubt any of them are being sold due to relability concerns.
