Hey guys,

I know this has probaly been discussed before but I have searched a lot and I just can't find the infos that I'm looking for.

So, I'm looking to buy a .22lr pistol. I don't want a 1000$ target .22. I just need a sweet accurate handgun, arround 350$, that I will shoot before shooting my Glock 22(.40). I'm sick of going to the range, shooting 30 minutes and then leaving because I already spent 40$ in half an hour. Besides, shooting a .22lr will help me increase my accuracy with my Glock and with a .22, I will be abble to shoot non-stop for a full hour for only 10$:D.

So, after some researches, I came out with three models:
1) Beretta U22 Neos with a 6 inches barrel;
2) Ruger Mark III with a 6 inches barrel to;
3) Browning Buck Mark with a 5.5 inches barrel.

Right now, I really like the Beretta U22 Neos. I know a guy at the range who has one and he likes it. Also, I love how it looks(might be the only one in the world though) but that doesn't really mathers. However, I have read that it would be the less accurate between those threes. The Ruger Mark III seems to me like the most censed choice right now. I don't really like the Browning Buck Mark but I have read some good things about it.

So, wich one should I go with and why? Also, if you have any other suggestion of .22 pistol that goes from 200$ to 400$ NIB, let me know.

Thanks for all.

i have a buckmark camper in stainless with the new grips and i absolutly love it! it feels good in the hands, the newer version look actually pretty good IMO (espcialy in stainless)

i got it for exactly the same reason as you, to practice and shoot alot for cheap! So far it has been completly reliable, i'm actually more than impressed with it!
I went for more than 1500 shots without cleaning, mostly shooting cheap stuff (remington thunderbolt) and it never jammed!

i had a few ftf but you can expect that using cheap rimfire

I HAD a Mk II that was super accurate - sold it to try something else...

I've heard the Mk II is still preferred over the Mk III - you'll have to decide if you go with Ruger.

I have a Buck Mark Contour 5.5 - not quite as accurate but grips are way better - fit is better, looks tougher, trigger is light and crisp (a significant improvement over Ruger trigger), very reliable, easier to take apart and clean.

See which one feels/fits you better.

Good luck!

Alright, most CGNers think that I should get the Ruger MarK III and I agree. The U22 seems not really good and I prefer the Ruger over the Browning.

One more question though, should I go with the Ruger Mark III or with the Ruger Mark III 22/45? The 22/45 has a grip very similar to a 1911 and I'm planning on buying one(probably way more than one:D) someday.

Thanks again.

I am currently making the same debate. I want a .22lr pistol but am undecided. The reason why I favour the neos is because of the top rail. I think a RDS on a neos would make it a sweet 22 pistol.

What are your thoughts on the S&W 22a? I havn't heard much about this pistol but it seems that there are a lot of people who have jamming issues with cheap ammo. To me, if I'm shooting a 22, i want cheap ammo so i want something that'll work with cheap ammo.

also, does anyone know if the neos in 6" will be more accurate than in 4.5"? thanks

I was in the same boat, I bought a Browning Buckmark Camper Special, Stainless, on rest it is an absolute tack driver...now if only I was that good....my vote at $315 (Wholesale Sports) it was definately worth it

Buckmark is indeed a very acurate 22 pistol. The one I tried for the first time I shot high 90's in a first try in rapid fire. Owner never gives me his gun anymore - makes him look bad. I am not sure what exactly his model is - it has rail on top and heavy barrel, and sights that have udjustable front pin thickness and shields over both front and rear sight. Best triger of all 22's I ever shot (not too many but still). I don;t think it is cheap though, maybe like 500-ish some.

i have a glock 17 and i bought the advantage arms 22lr conversion kit for it, i love it, its great becouse you get the shooting practice with 22lr with your glock, it takes 10 seconds to switch,
