Wich on would you use with open sights.

Hi all. I now owne 2 bolt action in LR. I want to use one with optics and one with open sight. I have a CZ 452LUX topped with a VORTEX DIAMONDBACK HP 2-8X32 and the other bolt will be a Remington 581 in excellent shape that should come in soon. I love very much how the CZ is set up but has way better open sight. How are the Remington sights? Are they excellent, very good , good or poor? Would you guys transfer the excellent Vortex on the Remington and use the sight on the CZ or they are good enough on the Remington to able me to hunt critters at short ranges.

Wich on ??? If it was me I would leave the scope on the CZ. As you said "I love very much how the CZ is set up". Maybe investigate peep sights as a possible set up for the Remington.

A receiver mounted peep sight is a lot faster to gain a good sight picture when you start from a low position, shoulder, sight and shoot. For this style of small game hunting you don't need or want a small target shooting aperture. Something with a 2 to 3mm aperture will do just nicely.
