The notebook was destroyed in a basement flood. Rezeroing from memory only. Ick!

Not bad for the first day. A 5inch three shot group for the Wichita @300 meters and iron peep sights. Not stellar, but a fine start indeed.

A much better 1.3inch group for the scope equipped Remington 700 Varmint also @300 meters today.

The Polytech was somewhat disappointing though. Although grouping rather well, it appears to me that the scope is out of calibration.
But it's got a new stock and that Ex-Israeli Army scope is suspect.

Overall a very good day for my first rifle practice at this distance in five months.
I brought the recurve today too for some practice.

You don't see many witchita's around(or atleast I dont), very cool.
Looks like it was a fun day

Yes overall it was. Lots of rushing around though trying to get three rifles boresighted then zeroed from scratch though. Because my notebook is gone.

But it turned out to be mostly successful. Even squeezed in some archery at the end of this day. :)

Hey the bolt handle on my Wichita is on the other side, and so is the loading port:cool: Now bring that rifle up to date a get yourself a 30mm Right Sight for the front of it:dancingbanana:

Joking aside maynard.....you mean optics??

Bite your tongue sir!!! That looks like an old 18mm front sight with inserts. Now just about everyone has gone to 30mm ladder front sights with the Right Sight by Stallings Machine being one of the most popular. It comes with a front iris and either a .3 or .5 diopter eagle eye lens in the front and built in level. Cool thing about the ladder front sights is that you do all your elevation changes on the front and you only have to move the back sight a minute or two from 300 yards to 1000 yards. Cheek pressure stays the same which is a real advantage if you don't have an adjustable cheek piece on the stock. The front moves 5 MOA each notch.
