My old lady finally purchased her 1st rifle (after many years of encouragement). She grabbed a 10/22 carbine with the pink laminate stock. She purchased a red dot for it and has already taken it out to the range a few times. She loves it.
The last time she went out to shoot it, I pointed out that the front sight was WAY off to the left. I just touched and found it can just slip right out, without any resistance. Shouldn't it be held in firmly? The dovetail seems a little too roomy.
Has anyone here encountered this? I have now removed the sight, as it will just fall out anyways. I don't want to return it, as the dealer likely has none left, and I'm guessing that Ruger repair would take a long time. Is this something I can fix with a brass punch and a hard smack?
