I believe this is the first year for wild turkeys in wmu 57. First of all, has anyone hunted this area and if so have you harvested one or more yet. I know it's no one's first choice of where to find them but I'd be interested in knowing as I'll be up there in a couple of weeks for a few days. I have noticed a set of tracks on my property last year but I have yet to see them on a regular basis. My property is 5 min. south of Cardiff, let me know where you got your's if you don't mind.

Well - Our camp is in 57, have seen quite a few up by Diamond Lake. Havent had the chance to hunt them as I have an "in" down south, that is primo. Most folks will scout an area in advance of the season to get an idea of location. You'll have to do the same - bear in mind that a farm field is a good setup.

I live in Cardiff townsite and there have been quite a few birds around this spring. A couple right in the subdivision. The locals have taken one or two. Angrysoldier is absolutely correct- great sandwiches at the Cardiff Country store. How did you discover that fact?- We are on the direct route between Borden and Petawawa! ( Hwy #118)

Thanks for the replies. I've scouted for turkeys where I live and am on to them but I was not planning on going to my property until turkey season was over. My wife has a different idea though. You would think after all these years she would know it's turkey season and not to talk to me.;)
