This is a website I've been working on. Its purpose is to help keep track of wild boars around Saskatchewan. Although it could be used to track boars anywhere. Its still in BETA but I figured it was working well enough to let the BETA go live. There are currently no points on the map as its literally just going live.

If you have any pointers or ideas please let me know.

If you hunt wild boar or want to hunt wild boar this website is for you. I'd love to hear from you and get your opinion on it.

My opinion is that it's a start, and just a start is a very good thing. Thank you.

No problem, its been a slow process as I haven't had alot of free time. It definitely can work as a start but it does need alot of work. As I mentioned any suggestions or feedback is nice.

Also right now its only me working on it in my free time on my dime... I wish I could put alot more time into it. If I could it would look way nicer already. Who knows if I can get enough in donations I can get someone to put some serious time into it. As it sits now it works, not very efficiently but it does work. My next plan is to speed up the process of marking a new point.

Its been a few days and haven't heard from anyone yet.

If you have any known / recent sightings I'd love to get them up on the website. Its fairly bare with an empty map...

If you've even seen evidence of a wild boar I want to know about it and I want to know where you seen it.

I'd love to hear from people who have!

I think your problem is that the people who know where the wild hogs are, are not in a hurry to share their secret and have the place flooded with hunters

Once you get the API worked out to plot a point yourself and make the template simple and easy enough I think it may catch on

Yea, I'm going to work on it this weekend and see if I can atleast streamline it if I can't get it functioning yet. Probably a right click and then something that says plot point here that simply sends an email. Until I can get the automatic points working which shouldn't take overly long I hope.

This is true, really the site is more geared towards land owners who have these animals or know of them and want them off their property. Atleast for the posting side.

I'd still love to atleast get 1 point plotted. Would look a whole lot nicer then an empty map :p

These critters can survive and breed like mice in the snow and cold and even more prolifically in the spring and summer.
I've seen up to a dozen piglets on one sow.
It'll start out with a few breaking out of captivity and in 5 years there'll be a pig behind every tree and fields of crops will be eaten before they have a chance to ripen.
I've hunted these things on friends ranches in Texas and I know whatfor I talk.
In Pennsylvania it started with wild boars allowed in game preserves only.
Now there are more wild hogs outside the preserve fences than inside.
Anybody who thinks you can keep wild boars fenced up is naive in the extreme.
It starts with a few breaking out (or being purposely let to escape) and then before you know it you are surrounded by them.
An invasive species in the true sense of the words.
Fellow Canadians:canadaFlag:, I hope you like pork chops cause the hogs are comin north. ;)

THIS^^^^

This is why I created the website. To help keep it under control or atleast try.

its a good idea but if sask is anything like alberta, the farmers / hunters / land owners are all tight lipped about where the boar are , they sure like to whine bout them boar killing livestock and wrecking crops but they sure as hell wont let you on the property to hunt them

Yea... This is a big problem. Maybe if enough damage is done they will loosen their belts and allow hunters to reduce their numbers.

Also I was sick this weekend so unfortunately I wasn't able to work on the site.
