the one in the center, if you can find one thats already been milled down like that, youve saved time and money over start with an original like the one to it's left

Thanks a lot, I know what to look for now! Glad to have learned that a rifle like this was around. One thing though, I want a peep-sighted rifle, wouldn't the one on the left be a good idea?

not really, it's a military battle sight, the sporterized ones are easy to drill for a side mounted lyman or williams peep which is a much better choice. actually a lot of the BSA conversions had just that done to them, the last couple i've owned and see where.
