I finally got Hornady neck dies in 7mm and 6.5mm so I can neck 7.62x54r brass down to 6.5 for a vostok rifle. I tried a few practice cases last night, and ran into an unexpected issue- bowing in the case shoulder after nicking down. This convex bow is easily apparent, and prevents chambering. I tried putting the shell back through a x54 fl die with a 6.5 expander in it, but it doesn't bump the shoulder as I expected. Any known fixes to avoiding or correcting this issue?

Sounds like you're starting to crush your case shoulders. Back the dies off a little and try again. Maybe use a marker on the case necks so you can see how far down you are going. - dan
