Wildcats (not the feline version)

I cant tell the difference

recoil energy calculator tells me this 25-284 hits me with 15 ft-lbs energy

for the 260 load I shoot it would be 13 ft-lbs

I had some serious fun forming a 303/25 case a week or so back.
When I first bought my ShtLE 303/25(303 Brit down to .257 cal) and started reloading for it the guy who taught me how to reload had a full length resizing vice die.
Basically, you form the case by inserting it in the die and then you put them in a big bench vice and wind it up.
Then you insert a short rod that's provided in a hole the top of die and knock the case out.
It was so easy that I'd been looking for one for yonks.
Finally, when I posted a Wanted ad for one on an Aussie hunting forum a guy PMs me and says he has one made by Simplex(an Aussie company), never uses it and will send it to me gratis!
He didn't even ask me for postage!! :D
So it turns up and obviously it was made during the 50s.
It's in top shape and ready to go.
I already have about 150 cases, some even factory headstamped when 303/25 was made here by the Super Cartridge Co. until the early 80s when they closed.
But it won't last forever so I took an old PMC 303 case a mate had given, lubed it up and took it out to the garage to try the die out.
It was way simple and apart from a couple of lube dimples(which come out with fireforming) it shaped up beautifully!
Very gratifying.
I'd imagine that the slow compression of the vice means it's unlikely to crumple the neck the way a press might.
Now all I need is a 303/25 neck sizing die......... :|

But it isn't just a 6.5/303, is it? :|
I thought it was a 6.5 Epps! :D
Now THAT would be a humdinger.....especially since it's a martini!

Yup, apparantly yes, a 6.5/303 Epps improved, but the strange thing is , this Partiicular Martini MAY have come from ........ OZ!!

How's this then?
A guy in California has a Martini Enfield in 303/25 and he got it from Australia.
I've never seen or heard of a Martini 303/25 and this guy on the other side of the world has one??
Very strange.
He even has a 3-9x scope on it mounted over the action.
How he get's the rounds in I'm not sure even though the receiver has been cut on the RHS to allow easier extraction.
He must have super high rings.
Here's a link to his page.
Just scroll down to the bottom and you find the 303/25.

Andy ,notice that the right side of the action on that 303/25 with the scope is cut down?
I bet that it is has nop problems feeding and extracting cases!

Oldbadger's Martini rail lets the scope sit a bit higher so there is little problems that way , also.Cat
