I posted this in another forum but I realized that I might find more info in this forum. My Uncle has his Grandfathers revolver that we need some info on. Above the cylinder it reads "Wilkinson Webley 05" Yes the quotation marks are there. The caliber reads 450/455 with a dot at the top front of each 4. Along the top it reads Wilkinson Gunmakers, Pall Mall London S.W. The s/n is 125### and it says Webley Patents beside the s/n. It looks a little rough but will probably clean up nice. I have googled everything I could find and without spending alot of money I could not find any web sights that had much information. I am pretty sure it is newer than 1898 but the model is that old, does anyone have any suggestions for getting it registered. Thanks in advance for any help. :)

It it is a Webley made revolver retailed by Wilkinson Sword Co. of Pall Mall, London. In olden days an officer would provide his own uniform and sword. So Wilkinson being sound business men thought that when the officer was buying a sword, it would be a good business to sell him his revolver at the same time. Webley made special high quality versions of their revolvers for them, Wilkinson simply applied their name. Often there would be a second Wilkinson serial number. The sales records sometimes are available (some were destroyed) and the sale can be looked up to see who was the original purchaser.

Yours is a Model of 1905. It will take the standard .455 service cartridge.

As for registration, you would have to be licenced first. A phone call to the Canadian Firearms Center will get you all the answers you need.
