Will a 308 collet die work on a 300WSM?

Haven't tried this yet and not sure if it just won't work because the 300WSM case is fatter. Has anyone tried to neck size their 300WSM with a 308 collet die?

Never tried. Pretty sure it won't work. Wsm case is too fat. I wanted to neck size a 300 wsm to seat a bullet just for my collection. All I had was a 3006 collet die. I disassembled the die and flipped the collet so I could crimp the neck. It doesn't work nice but good enough for my collection.

I agree that the WSM case is fatter than the 308, but I've used my 25/06 collet die to do 257 Weatherby mag neck sizing and it worked.

257 Roberts collet die works for 257 A.I.

Scott, I just checked my Lee .308 Win Collet Die.

It is 0.033" smaller diameter than the 300WSM case, sorry...
