Will a 7" rock river ar upper cycle reliably ?

JL -- a friend had taken that bolt -- All it had was the LMT "enhanced bolt" at the time -- hence it had problems

I took the same upper to Afghanistan where it ran flawlessly in front of several witnesses -- and have a similar in Iraq
I have bet and continue to bet my life on LMT.

JY and co later found to have poor bolts that should been caught by QC - they sheered the gas key.

I have a Colt A2 SBR with 7.5 inches barrel that run great. I added the D ring and this is all. It does it a man size target at 200 yards without problem.
I do not have a scope on it. It is fast, handy and a lot of fun. When you have used a 7.5 , you have no need or urge for a 11.5 or 14.5 barreled AR15
