If there are a few small flocks (6 to 12 birds) spread out by roughly a kilometre or two, that seem to keep there distance and do their own thing...

Will a big dominant Tom travel back and forth amongst these flocks searching for love?
Is it common for them to cover ground and cruise for hens to breed in more than one flock?

Or do the Tom's generally only stay with their one flock?

I have a big Gobbler that seems to roost away from the flock that I hunt, he seems comfortable covering ground and I am guessing that he roosts half way between two flocks....?

What do you think?

Thanks

I have noticed the Toms and jakes on my land almost make their own 3-4 bird mini flocks.... they split up in thr morning to chase hens all over the place then end up back in the same spot to roost at night.... When they split up they go find various hens to court then when the deed is done come back... but they don't seem to "live" with the flock of hens.... I always said they were smart birds...lol
