Will a Bushnell 3200 or a 4200 Fit on a long action or short action gun?

Hey there,

I am just wondering if I Bushnell 3200 or a 4200 will fit on a long action or short action gun. I am not 100% sure so I thought I would ask before I bought a gun. I would like to buy a 30-06 which to my understanding is a long action but I might buy a 7mm Mag (which is short action I think) also because it seems to be a bit better. I already have a 3200 but I might keep it or I might sell it and get a 4200 I am not sure yet.

Yes it will fit, and a 7mm mag is a long action, mine was anyways.:D
now if its a 7mm SA UM or WSM, then its a short action, but the scope will still fit, depending of course on your ring setup.
 
Hi cereal83,

I have a Elite 3200 3x9x50 on my 7MMRemMag (long action) and it fits without problems, and will also fit the 30.06 long action.

Unless you have the Elite 3200 3x10x40 which is made for short action rifle, the other 3200 will fit.

I have been away so sorry for the late reply.

I am keeping the 3200 because it looks to be a decent scope and since I am just new to guns, I don't think I need anything better. I wasn't 100% sure of this question so I asked.

I was going to buy the 3-10x40 but thank god I didn't.

Hey sorry :redface: , this came up right at the time we were seeing all those posts from anti's and folks just messen around, again thanks for keeping cool:D
Both those scopes are pretty much the same , and the calibers as well, as far as mounting scopes.
If I were to make a choice for a hunting rig, weight is always a factor, and I think the 3200 is a bit less weight. But I would have maybe sold the 3200 , and gotten a burris 3x9 with ballistic plex, a very light and well made scope.

Well I am going to keep the 3200. Although the 4200 is probably better, I don't think I need it yet.

I could get a 7mm. I haven't shot a gun but from my reading, the differance isn't that much.

I wasn't sure what was long action and what was short action. I was under the impression that all mags were short action and all normal were long action.
