I have been doing some scouting and found a spot where for 3 nights in a row i have heard probably 15 coyotes and a few groups of coyotes howling yipping and barking about half an hour after sun down.

My question is, they are all on military property and i do not have access to it. it is fenced of with that 4 inch square "chicken" wire fence that is about 4 feet tall. Will they jump the fence to come to my call?

I would doubt it, but who knows?
Coyotes tend to be crawl under the fence animals, like antelope. I have only ever seen them run under fences.
Give it a try. If they come to the fence and no further then you have your answer.

four feet tall ,
yes , they can jump it . i have watched a yote jump a 4 foot barb wire fence with little or no effort .

IF not a call, and the wind's right, accidentally drop some meat on the ground 50 yards in front of your hide...

They can jump onto the roof of an S10 pickup truck NO PROBLEM an scare the #### out of you while you are trying to sleep haha.

Coyotes and fences

I was tarping a load of steel at Lasco Steel in Whitby Ont. one night and spotted a yote cross the CNR and run up a 45* enbankment and jump through one of the squares in a wire farm fence and was amazed!Dieseldog:eek:

Same here 4 feet is no problem to them, not my pic but 6-7 is a different story:D

They like to sunbathe or get a better view by jumping up on round bales. :D So they can but would rather go underneath. Way to catch em is by finding a spot where they crawl under a fence and hanging a snare there.

Grizz

I've seen a fox climb an 8' chain link fence up and down both sides like it wasn't even there.
Also seen a coyote 12' up a tree looking down like a cougar.
They mat not be jumping the fence but "climbing" it?

I've personally sent one over a 5 foot gate at a full run. He'd dropped into my folks' back yard through a missing panel in the neighbors fence (about 6 feet). Initially I though it was a stray cat driving our golden retriever nuts, but that moron dog ran one way and the coyote ran about five feet in front of her the other way. All I had was a Daisy Red Rider and a flashlight. That was enough motivation to get that coyote over a five foot gate before our dog finally figured out what was happening and got into it. Mind you it didn't clear it in one bound, it made it half way and managed the rest with further motivation.
