I've got a stock that a 1600 Husky 30.06 was glass bedded into...will a Husky 9.3X62 barrelled action fit into it? I'm thinking the barrel channel would need to be enlarged, which is do-able if the action will fit into the stock... Thanks in advance for the information!

Actually, it depends. There are differences over time and models.
A true model 1600 have a different barrel profile than a 1640 (they never produced à 1600 chambered in 9.3x62) and the steel floorplate footprint doesn't fit the footprint of the alloy floorplate. There may also be issues regarding the bolt release lever.

Calling all models 1600 is inaccurate, as the "1600" denomination is for a distinct range of medels (short barrels).

Check the HVA sticky thread for more details on models / differences.

There is no specific "export" model for the 1600 Std other than those imported by Tradewinds (and Dorken and later Ruko in Canada) namely 4000 / 4100 (all with 520mm barrels) .
The barrel channel of a 1600 won't accomodate a 1640 barrels action as the barrel of the later is heavier.
Since the stock of a 1600 is also slimmer, there is no way to fit a 1640 barreled action in it (anyways, it would look very ugly and the stock will be ruined for a 1600)

Baribal,
When they switched from the 1600 action to the 1900, fid they change stocks as well? Or were these initially carried over?

The action shape is different. There were also some changes made to the bottom metal.
