Will a mini 14 handguard fit on a deerfield?

I want to scout-mount a scope on my deerfield, and I see there are railed handguards around for the mini's....they look to be the same (pics only, I don't have a mini), but I'd like to know before ordering.

Anybody know?

Or does anybody have a railed mini handguard I could try?

if it's a clip on maybe. the one that I have is part of the gas system and will not. look around for a rail that attaches to the ar handguard and see if it could be modified to work. remember if it moves, so does your POA
