I recently purchased a S&W Model 29 in .44 Magnum. It's big, it's dumb, and I really like it.
Since this is my first wheelgun I'm building up my rig as quick as I can for some fun competition in the very near future. I'll be shooting a Tier 1 IDPA match shortly. I've already confirmed with the Match Director and Area Coordinator that they'll allow the ridiculous 6.5" barrel for two reasons:
1) Canada has that barrel exemption anyway for Tier 1 matches however there will be no Provincials or Nationals in my future with this, and
2) they really want to see me try to shoot this match and have a good laugh. It's all in good fun!
I have some cheap Amazon nylon/velcro speedloader pouches that'll fit HKS 29-M and Safariland J-S5 Comp I speedloaders (all I could easily/quickly procure in .44) but I'm looking at the Safariland 333 Speedloader Holder and wondering if it could accommodate these as well. Anyone tried that and been successful or will they only fit .357 and 38 Special speedloaders?
